Power for America needed a way to transition its annual conference into a fully virtual experience during the pandemic. To meet this challenge, we developed "Training in Action". This custom online platform allows union members to securely register, log in, and view video streams of conference speakers. As new presentations were released throughout the event, members could access them on-demand, ensuring flexibility and broad participation.

Anticipating high volume traffic during the event, we prepared by building auto-scaling, self-healing server infrastructure to host the new video platform. Our preparation paid off as the event unfolded smoothly - new servers spinning up and down as necessary to accommodate the load.

Behind the scenes, the system tracked detailed engagement data - recording which videos each participant viewed, how much of each session they completed, and their overall progress. We built robust reporting tools around this data, giving administrators clear insights into participation levels and the ability to measure the reach of every presentation.

Once in-person gatherings resumed, we repurposed and expanded the platform into an ongoing private video hub. Administrators can now easily upload and share training sessions, presentations, and other content with members in a secure, password-protected environment. This ensures that only union members gain access while maintaining a professional, easy-to-use system.

The result is a long-term, flexible solution that supports both live virtual conferences and ongoing member education.
